1.  Senior British officer Cressida Dick appointed as the commissioner of London’s Metropolitan Police.  She is the first woman to lead Scotland Yard in its 187-year history.

2. Agreement signed between Queensland University of Technology of Australia & IIT Madras to undertake joint applied research in information security, health technologies & combustion.

3. The signing of Air Services Agreement (ASA) between India and Greece has been approved by Indian Govt. This agreement will allows the airlines of the two countries to fly in each other’s territory.

4. Free antivirus software named as ‘Mkavach’ and ‘Samvid’ has been launched through Govt of India.

5. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), India’s growth rate is projected to slow to 6.6 per cent in 2016-17 fiscal.

6. Kolkata-based United Bank of India (UBI) has launched a railway ticket booking facility by having a direct tie-up IRCTC.

7. Vivek Chaand Sehgal, the 60-year-old chairman of auto parts maker Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd, has been named Indian entrepreneur of the year 2016 by EY, the consulting firm formerly known as Ernst & Young.

8. Darjeeling has opened the country’s first hill station bicycle path, with views of the world’s highest mountains as cycling grows in popularity among Indians.
