Maharashtra Prisons Dept Recruitment 2014 – Apply online for 589 Jail Sepoy and Clerk Posts: Maharashtra Prisons Department has released a recruitment notification for the positions of Jail Sepoy & Clerk Posts. Online applications are invited for filling up 589 Jail Sepoy and Clerk vacancies in South Zone, West Zone, Central Zone and East Zone. Interested and eligible Applicants can apply through online mode on or before 27th January 2014.

I.) Jail Sepoy: 541 posts

1.     South Zone: 111 posts
2.     West Zone: 126 posts
3.     Central Zone: 201 posts
4.     East Zone: 103 posts

II.) Clerk: 48 posts

1.     South Zone: 12 posts
2.     West Zone: 09 posts
3.     Central Zone: 11 posts
4.     East Zone: 16 posts

Age Limit: Candidates age should be between 18 years to 33 years for Clerk posts 18 years to 25 years for Jail Sepoy posts.


Educational Qualifications: Candidates should have passed Intermediate/ 12th standard or equivalent for Jail Sepoy posts and must have passed SSC or equivalent exam with Typing knowledge of Marathi & English languages for Clerk posts.

Application Fee: General and unreserved candidates are required to pay Rs. 500/- as application fee while SC/ ST category candidates will have to pay Rs. 250/- as application fee.  Ex-Serviceman candidates are exempted from paying application fee.

Application fee should be paid through Challan in State Bank of India.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on their marks obtained in written Examination and Physical test.
